Life Update

Hello beautiful people.  A lot has happened since my last post back on January 8th.  One of the biggest changes happened when my 93 year old grandmother passed away on January 20th, 2012.  She was perfect to me and extremely healthy.  Even with her age, she would wake up at 6am every morning to fix her hair, put on her make-up, and pick her outfit of the day.  She always had her nails done, she was always presentable and well put together.  Her memory was close to perfect and she made sure to have dinner ready every day.  Her kitchen skills were amazing and simply incomparable.  Her health deteriorated in just a blink of an eye.  One minute she was laughing and the next she had a tube down her throat unable to communicate if she was feeling any sort of discomfort.  Watching her and monitoring her health for those grueling 20 days she was hospitalized, I witness my family (whom I always considered to be dysfunctional) pull together and become this solid unit of support for my mother (who was witnessing her mothers life slip away before her), and of course for my grandmother.  I realized that Kaye West (of all people) was wise when he said “nothing in life is promised but death”.  You really have to live your life to the fullest with no regrets.  You have to live a life filled with laughter and shared with your loved ones.  You have to live a life that you want to live for yourself.  Through those 20 days the doctors informed us that Grandma’s health had deteriorated so much that she could pass at any moment. Not knowing how much longer she would live I made peace with her and myself, I was ready to see her pass, and on January 20th she did.  With all that being said, never hesitate to tell someone you love them.

I LOVE YOU ALL.
